Troy
Annual Conference
makes the Online Sunday School™ available
to 300 churches.

CRANBERRY TWP. — Aug.
25, 2004— The
Troy Annual Conference
of The United Methodist Church has teamed up with Simply Christian®, a
ministry of Dutilh UMC, to make the Online Sunday School™ available
to all of its 300 churches.
Rev. Meredith Vanderminden,
Director of Faith Development for the Troy Conference and Communications
Committee Chair, says
“Simply Christian’s
Online Sunday School has been a valuable addtion
to our conference website. Troy Conference communicators
have been working hard to use the various technologies available
to us to spread the Word, and Simply Christian has allowed
us to broaden our scope once again. The Online Sunday
School combines web technology and the good old fashioned
love of God, and communicates that love in the language of
kids today…the computer!"
Rev. Vanderminden adds, "The Online Sunday School is age appropriate and
contains fun games and activities that help kids learn about God. My own children
love surfing the web to Online Sunday School, and I feel good that they have
an alternative to other questionable and dangerous sites. And they learn
about God and Jesus in the process! Online Sunday School is easy for
churches to use (you don’t even need a computer at the church!), and
they do the work of updating and keeping the material fresh for us. For
all of these reasons I was delighted, as both the conference’s Faith
Development
Coordinator and the chair of our Communications Committee, to begin a relationship
with the folks at Simply Christian and to offer Online Sunday School for
all of our churches on our conference website.”
